Privacy Policy

Mindburst Publishing collects very little about you: an email address if you choose to give us one, and general information about how people use this site. Here is what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Your email address. If you sign up for the Insider’s Club, we collect the email address you enter. That is all we ask for.

Site usage information. We use Google Analytics to see how people use this site. It records things like the pages you view, the links you click (including links to Amazon), your approximate location, your device and browser, and how you arrived here.

Payment information, if you buy from us in person. If you pay us directly, for example at an event, the payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

How we use it

• To email you about new Mindburst titles and related news, if you signed up.
• To understand which pages get read, so we can improve the site.

We do not sell your information.

Consent and unsubscribing

We only send emails to people who have asked for them. Signing up for the Insider’s Club is your consent to receive emails from Mindburst Publishing about new book releases.

You can withdraw that consent at any time. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can write to us at the address below and we will remove you.

Who else handles your information

A few services help us run the site. Each has its own privacy policy.

• Google stores the email addresses collected through the signup form (Google Forms and Google Sheets) and provides Google Analytics.
• Stripe processes payments made directly to us.
• Amazon handles your purchase when you click through to Amazon.ca. Once you leave this site, Amazon’s privacy policy applies.

Some of these services store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States.

Cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visitors apart and measure how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same either way.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Google Analytics keeps usage data for a limited period set in our account.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will respond promptly.

Children

This site is written for parents, teachers and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
